The Tom Coughlin Jay Fund Foundation continues to grow on the First Coast thanks to efforts like the Celebrity Golf Classic. The Dinner and Silent Auction held on May 6th at the Ponte Vedra Inn and Club and the subsequent Golf Tournament on May 7th at Marsh Landing Country Club were huge successes for the Foundation, netting $265,000 in proceeds. This was the largest total for the twelfth annual event. All funds raised will remain in Jacksonville to support local children undergoing pediatric leukemia and cancer treatments, and their families. The event had great “energy” as Tom Coughlin was joined by an impressive line-up of 40 celebrity guests including Bill Parcells, Jon Gruden, Steve Spurrier, Chris Mortensen, Calvin Peete, Sam Jones, Eli Manning, Mark Brunell, and many other current and former Jacksonville Jaguar and New York Giants players. A highlight of the night was the fevered bidding on the six items in the live auction. This portion of the evening alone raised $77,000 for the Jay Fund. The lead sponsor of the tournament was Acosta Sales and Marketing. The presenting sponsors were First Coast News, The PGA Tour, and Wolfson Children’s Hospital. Official Sponsors included Coggin Automotive Group, Elias Jewelry, Southern Wine and Spirits, and The Kossak Companies. To date, the Tom Coughlin Jay Fund Foundation has donated more than $1.6 million dollars to assist families in need. There were ninety new cases of pediatric cancer diagnosed in Jacksonville in the last year. The need continues to grow and the Jay Fund aims to be a resource for all those who call for assistance. About The Tom Coughlin Jay Fund Foundation: The mission of the Tom Coughlin Jay Fund Foundation is to assist children with leukemia and other cancers and their families by providing emotional and financial support to help reduce the stress associated with treatment and improve their quality of life.
