The Tom Coughlin Jay Fund Foundation continues to grow on the First Coast thanks to efforts like the Celebrity Golf Classic, its largest annual fundraiser in the area. The Dinner and Silent Auction held on May 7th at the Ponte Vedra Inn and Club and the subsequent Golf Tournament on May 8th at Marsh Landing Country Club were huge successes for The Foundation, netting almost $250,000. This was the largest total for the eleventh annual event. All funds raised will remain in Jacksonville to support local children undergoing pediatric leukemia and cancer treatments, and their families.
The event had great “energy” as Tom Coughlin was joined by an impressive line-up of 40 celebrity guests including Eli and Archie Manning, John Fox, Dick Vermeil, Steve Spurrier, many current and former Jacksonville Jaguar and NY Giants players, Chris Mortensen and Tom Jackson, renowned ESPN analysts and more.
A highlight of the night was the fevered bidding on “the ultimate year in sports” auction package, which included tickets to 9 major sporting events including the Superbowl, NCAA BCS Championship Game, The NCAA Final Four, and the Masters.
The tournament was presented by Acosta Sales and Marketing, First Coast News, Imagine Orthodontics, The PGA Tour, and Wolfson Children’s Hospital. Official Sponsors included Coggin Automotive Group, Elias Jewelry, Southern Wine and Spirits, and Zurich Insurance.
The Tom Coughlin Jay Fund Foundation has donated more than $1.4 million dollars towards it’s mission of providing financial and emotional support for Jacksonville-area pediatric leukemia and cancer patients, and their families. The Jay Fund aims to improve their quality of life trough a variety of programs.
